i waited till i was fully healed and no longer bleeding-ptook about 2 weeks. and it still hurt at first but then i was totally fine, just had to take it a bit slow for the first few times. if i ever get pregnant again, i think ill wait a little longer, maybe 3 or 4 weeks.
btw-my doctor said after im healed, or 2 weeks or so I should be ok, it all depends on how i feel.
make sure u use BC because u are very fertile right now and i dont think ud want another so quickly :)

You could have sex earlier, but I wouldn't advise it. Even though you think everything has healed up on the outside, on the inside you just took a real beating. A living human being just tore the insides of your body out only less than 2 weeks ago. Wait until you see your doctor. Let your doctor check you out and make that decision. Take it from me. I have three children and I wanted to have sex right away the second time thinking I didn't have problems after my first. I ended up with a bad bacterial vaginal infection and had to wait for a lot longer than if I would have just waited to begin with. yes, wait.

you will know when you are ready... but be careful and dont try to do everything alla t once....
my first i waited a about 3 weeks but my second i think i only waited a week
apparantly i was naughty but i had no problems
if you had stitches then it might be a good idea to wait a bit... if you arent ocmpletely sure maybe just try other things before doing the whole act... you may find that more enjoyable and not have to worry so much
have fun!
and use lube regardless whetehr you do it now or wait the 6 weeks...

Did you have any stitches? If so, I would wait the full 6 weeks...at least! I didn't and I was able to after 2 weeks. But it WAS NOT the best experience. It hurt a lot! Just go with the way you feel but if it hurts you need to stop!

YES, it matters. There's a reason doctors tell women to wait six weeks. It's not because they want to make us suffer. :) It's because even though you might THINK you feel ok and have healed well, your body (mainly your vagina) has gone through some rough times delivering your baby, and hormones are funny things. I can almost guarantee if you try to have sex with your husband/boyfriend now, you'll regret it. Chances are you'll be very, very dry (thank you, hormones! grrr) and will have to stop.

Yes it matters!! Are you kidding? I dont know if you had a tear at all - but, if you did, you will rip your stitches (and they CANNOT sew you back up twice) You will have to heal naturally and you will always be scarred in that region - sex will never be the same after that. Trust me. My OB told me all about a woman who had sex within the first month, ripped her stitches so severely that she did permanent damage to herself. Even if you did not tear, your body needs time to heal. If you force the issue, it won't "feel fine"...you will cause yourself much grief. Dont risk it over something so silly. Be patient.

Yes, you need to wait the six weeks unless the doctor tells you otherwise. The healing needs to go on inside your body. I find it surprising that you want to have sex so soon this badly. Is this your choice, or your partner?

sweetheart your body is not ready for sex yet. it hasnt even been two weeks, wait six weeks. if you have sex now its going to hurt you badly. the doctor said 6 weeks for a reason. your body has been through a trauma give it the proper amount of time to heal

You need to wait out the 6 weeks for the doctor's okay. Reason being, you are healing, and the penis can introduce bacteria that can cause infection. Is it really worth risking your entire uterus??
