I need help.?

Can you guys give me a 411 about bitTorrent? what is it? -the wiki explanation is a bit too advance for me-
What are the negative sides of downloading Torrent files (such as virus, hackers, etc)?
Is it available for macintosh? If it is, will Mac system face the same risk as PC system?
What is the advantages of having and using this program?

basically, it's peer-2-peer file sharing. You download a .torrent file, and it goes out there and finds people with a piece of the file(s) you want. You need a bittorrent client to do all the work, such as utorrent.

torrents are mostly pirated files, meaning that you are downloading games/movies/music that you should be paying for.
with that said, this one is free http://www.bitcomet.com/ works well
and you can goto their forums for help.

no idea if it works with a mac, i'm sure the answer is on the web page or forums.

Also no matter what you download, or where you download, ALWAYS scan the file with a good virus scanner.
