Cigarette smoking is a lifestyle issue, so..
when you want to change one thing, you have to change the other at the same time.
It begins with your daily routine and all and what causes you to smoke when you first start your day. Once you've figured that out, then change the habit the minute it strikes you in the butt again.
A great way to change things here is to start a whole new healthier lifestyle. You can do simple things like taking a walk outside, whenever you feel like smoking... then gradually increase the amount of exercise you do as the cravings cease to exist.
Avoiding the regular places that you go to that start up ciggarette smoking is essential here too. Drop the chain smoking friends if you have to, and avoid them bars.
If someone else in your family also smokes, then you must get a pact with that person to do the same thing you want to do too. That isn't always easy, but just explain that your health means much more to you now then ever before.. That will help.
Eating right is essential too. Yes, take a vitamin once a day if you have to, but get those calories out of your system that make you want to smoke right after you've indulged....that will be the challenge of a lifetime if you don't do this right off.

When I was finally able to quit there weren't patches etc. but here's an idea that a friend suggested: Take a lot of showers! When the cravings got too intense to bear I would jump in the shower and it would completely take the cravings away for a few hours. Of course this doesn't help if you don't have a shower or if you're not able to get to it. However you manage to do it though, DO IT! It will be the best thing you ever did for yourself and you will thank yourself for ever.

i quit smoking eight years ago with the help of hypnosis. I haven't smoked a cigarett since, and I have had zero cravings for either cigaretts or food. Pretty cool. I totally recommend it. It was the best 100 bucks I have ever spent.

set a date you want to completely stop smoking by...a holiday and birthday the day you know your going some where. then the best way i have found is to watch how many cigs you smoke a day and then the next day only let yourself have a few less than that, the next day drop it down some more and so on....you can also quit cold turkey, but that is hard..or you can as i call it make yourself sick, what you do it by like 4 packs of cigs one day and smoke as much as you can...if you smoke more then buy more..but make yourself sick of smoking..as soon as you go to put one out light another one...with the others like cold turky and weening i suggest finding a candy or soemthing you really like to take the place of a cig or whenever you get a craving eat that...try something non-fatting cause you gan weight when you quit smoking.
and find someone to support you...like even if its just them tellin you everyday that you can do it....or someone that cares about yoru health that when you go to light a cig you feel so bad about it you put it down...
if you can't find that person...email me at taytayjomar89@yahoo.com
good luck!
