Lebanese returning to Canada complain that the government has not done enough to get them back from Lebanon.?

My question is: if they cannot even complain in English, then how much does this country owe them. They went of thier own free will and as many as 35,000 of the 50,000 over there, were never intending to even return.. they lived and worked there. Are they paying any Canadian taxes to supposrt his very ecpensive rescue.

a lot of people use a Canadian citizenship as a life preserver. they come to Canada get status as an immigrant and retain their natural citizenship so if anything happens to their country Canada will bail them out. hypocritical if you ask me. you either live in Canada as a member of our society or you don't. plain and simple. then have the guts to complain?

What does speaking English have to do with citizenship? I have a friend whose grandmother is here in Canada for over 30 years and she still can only speak Greek. Yet she loves Canada and all her children are here leading productive prosperous lives. You can bet they all pay their taxes.

If she went to visit relatives in Cypress, and war broke out, would you be as intolerant of her if she said she had to spend 22 hours in a cargo hold with no water, getting dehydrated, with people vomitting everywhere?

I thought we Canadians had more compassion towards our fellow citizens...

I don't think ALL are complaining, but if you were to listen to certain types of media, you'd get a different opinion. But for the ones that ARE complaining, I'd say be happy your back on Canadian soil and let's give the government a little bit of credit for that!!
