If someone told you the guy was getting monthly Social Security checks, and you overheard him talking to others about drinking beer and smoking cigarettes? Or would that matter to you?

When I help homeless people it is by providing them with food or other essentials, not money... so yes I'd help him any way.

If he is on social security and is buying beer and cigarettes with his money PLUS still begging... He isnt really doing much to help his own situation, so I would continue my walk and give to someone who is wanting to make a better life for themselves

well that depends, I would encourage him to find a place to live and help put in place the right social support method for his drinking. Everybody has their vices. But often the homeless need a little more help with direction...

he's already getting my help through welfare, then he just drinks and pisses away the money.
