I guess it depends. For a couple of years there was a guy running around my college with a ski mask who would jump out and masturbate on people. It took two years for the cops to catch a dude with a ski mask and no pants, I never understood why. Anyway, that's gross and wrong. You can masturbate by yourself, or with a special friend, but should never do so on the unsuspecting. Athiest, Pastafarian, Wiccan, Christian, it doesn't matter. That's gross.

No. It seems people who think it is wrong to masturbate base it on scripture. If you are an athiest there is no reason to feel compelled to follow the rules of scripture, so there is no moral reason not to masturbate. I assume when you ask is it "wrong" to masturbate you mean morally wrong (i.e. you'll got to hell). Good luck, and enjoy.

Masturbation is wrong whether you are an atheist or a vegetarian. It's a perversion. A lust of the flesh, selfishness, and self-centeredness. I thought we had evolved from animals. If we are on a higher plain of consciousness from animals, why would it be okay to behave like them?

No, its not wrong for anybody to masturbate. Think about it, why would you condemn it when its much safer than going out and having sex with another human being? No diseases, no unwanted pregnancies. I don't understand why people are against it.

They don't believe in crap, so I guess not! Really religious people are the ones who have been taught that it is wrong, wrong wrong! An athiest is safe, in their own eyes!!

What? Sexual drive is like eating or sleeping. We are physiologically programmed to want (need) sex. Masturbation, done privately or with a consenting adult partner, harms no one.
AND it is hugely desirable when compared to non-consensual sex, rape, etc. I don;'t think religious philosophy should play into it. That is what I think, so no, I don't think it's wrong either.

you answered your own question, if you are an atheist then you don't care if god is watching you and technically to you this is no sin. I'm catholic and I beat my stuff like it owes me money so who is to say what is right or wrong. when I die I'm sure that if I go to heaven me and the man upstairs are gonna have one loooong talk. who knows maybe I have a reserved seat downstairs and he might give me a high five.

If you don't answer to a higher power, what would happen if you did? It isn't illegal. It isn't physically harmful. The only concern would be moral and that means someone answers to a higher power.
