Some ideas include eating a well balanced breakfast to get your day started right... going to bed earlier if your a late owl.. maybe drinking an energy drink like Red Bull or V8 in the morning to get you started. Exercising even if only for 10-15 minutes first thing in the a.m. also helps get you going. Some drink coffe but caffeine is not always good for you and can be addictive. I would stay away from sodas as they can initially give you a high.. like sure can... as well as energy but before you know it your crashing and feeling sluggish the rest of the day. Changing your diet also will help. If you get the swim and gym in during the day before your shift that might be better for you. Sometimes if your energized in the am that will be the best time to work out and swim... try changing the times you exercise to see if that will help. So the question is, do you work out before or after work. If your not taking vitamins that may also help you get some more energy during your day.

Alot of times it's because our body need stimulation. You don't have to work out excessively. I was the same way up until 1 month ago. I started walking for 30 minutes a day 5 days a week. Now, I walk up to an hour because I feel great. I wake up at 4 every morning to go to work. I go to school at night but I make time. 15 minutes here or there will add up. You might also want to take vitamins. I can;t take medicine so I take Flinstone vitamins. Good luck and hope this helps!

Lack of sleep can lead to chronic fatigue. Hard to avoid on a second shift. Sleep as long as you feel like it, then do other things like going to the gym, etc. so you are refreshed and feeling better. Or if the gym is closed, buy some equipment and exercise at home when you feel like it. Talk lots of vitamins.
There are pills that will make you feel better. People do that to avoid jet lag, but in your case it is long term so I guess that option is out.

man do i understand.. i paid for 3 years for gym pass (cost almost $700!!!). i went the first couple of years..now i'm lucky if i even find the damn pass. =T... dammit. anyway, u really have to make a decision and stick to it. make some time in ur day, 15 min or 30 min even!!! right before u take a shower, and i think u will see small results in ur energy level. once u get urself to the gym i think u will see that u can do 30-40 min and so on and so forth. if u can do that 3 times a week, ur awesome. elliptical machine, treadmill, walking, stairmaster..anything "easy" on ur body, and go slowly. work it up to doing weights or working out harder. good luck!

Lots and lots of carbohydrates. Get a lot of bread and milk for breakfast, and make it heavy. Coffee helps too, but don't be too dependent on it - there might be a time that you will get tired if you keep drinking coffee. Just do it the natural way, don't buy any artificial energy boosting medicine that is generally not taken by the public. My cousin-in-law had got really ill because of that.

It may be your diet. Try eating more carbs, the ones found in vegetable and fruits. Also eat a good pasta or chicken for dinners. Try oatmeal for breakfast or a banana before getting to the gym. Try avoiding alcohol.

Also you may need an exercise partner, someone to push you to go even when you'd rather not. Plus once you start, you'll begin to feel soooo much better about yourself.

Because your system is all confused Try less caffeine and B complex supplements . They boost your energy and help your skin too . Your urine will be very yellow like the tablets are but that is OK. Just don't freak. You can take 2 with each meal. They contain all of your B vitamins.
