And "education" is just another word for "learning how to spell correctly".

Janis Joplin didnt write that, you know. It was Chris Christophrison (sorry about the spelling). But the next line of the song says, "freedom aint nothing but at least its free". Freedom really is having nothing to loose. Have you noticed that wealthy people really arent free? What they fear most is losing their wealth and they are willing to do anything to hold onto it. Thats not freedom at all, they are slaves to the dollar.

Yes those that are truly free have nothing to lose. They are not slaves to money. They are not slaves to bosses. They are not slaves to the big house and mortgages.

The question is actually Kris Kristoferson's as he wrote the song. There is certainly no freedom in having wealth as it becomes a master. Freedom is the most desired and feared thing on the human horizon.

No, Janis wasn't right. She was stoned---all the time.

No. People who have freedom have plenty to lose and the fact that people take their freedom for granted is why they lose it.

Well, when you're so fricken poor, that you can't afford to
leave your house - I guess there really isn't nothing left to lose.
