The only movie that I have seen that was almost word for word as book is The Green Mile. I was very impressed.

The Bridges of Madison County. I hated the book. It was so sappy. But I enjoyed the movie. It was a nice sweet love story.

I also enjoyed the first Harry Potter Movie. It was wonderful to see all that magic come to life. I can enjoy most movies based on a novel as long as I read the book first. Can't do it the other way around.

The Chronicles of Narnia did the book justice. And The Lord of the Rings was a mighty hand to the epic series. Charlie and the Choclate Factory wa soutstanding and The Godfather trilogy improved on the book.

None. I have never watched a movie based on a novel that I enjoyed more than the novel. Ever.

The Lord of the Rings, there's just no way without making a 20 hour movie to get it all in, so the greatness of the movie they made was excellent! A real joy to watch in the time allowed!

"Wonder Boys" by Michael Chabon is a good example. The book is hardly bad but the movie more than does it justice. Also, "The Godfather" is a great, great movie, and I hear the book is trash, so there's a possible answer as well.

October Sky is a wonderful movie and book , though technically not a novel I suppose.

Silence of the Lambs, The Bone Collector, Kiss the Girls. On all three I think they did a great job of staying true to the book and the casting was amazing.

Lord of the Rings, even though the movie differed far from the book. Both are excellent.
