I have a stronger more dominant personality than my husband,
How can I be more encouraging to him and how can I help himcontinue to lead our home? What are ways I can help his ministry of being a deacon and ministering to him?

God has been dealing with me about being a good listener and to me more attentive.

Wives how have you helped your husbands to succeed?

Well, Skullery maid, God can speak to youz anywhere, 'agal!
Even on dis 'ere, Yahoo Answers!!
I sure have a bin reachin' deep lately on here, Gal.

Wolf, I enjoy your direct humorous style; but I don't think that's what this lovely lady needs.

This is really a difficult task for you, Young Lady; isn't it?
Because the Bible tells women to be humble and submit to their husbands, but all of society today, tells women to be 'hussies' [effectively] to be assertive, to exert their influence and become independent.

But as you know, "Neither is the man without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord".
And Jesus Himself said, "They are no more twain, but one flesh".
So you have literally given up the individual life, top be joined as 'one flesh'.
You must move as one flesh ... think as one flesh.

To do this smoothly, your man has been Divinely-appointed to be the Head. You must follow him.
Just as Jesus said, to the Church [which is 'the Bride'], "Come follow me, and take upon you my name".
He has set the example for husband-wife relationships.

Let your husband know you really enjoy his leadership ... admire him for all his great characteristics.
Focus on them, rather than his faults.

Now, of course, he has the role as 'Head of the Home'; but your role is equally as important.
You are "the Heart of the Home".
You need to become soft, meek and mild, warm, tender, thoughtful, feminine and willing to submit to all things your Father in Heaven might call upon you to do.

Your other most important calling is 'Motherhood'.
If you want to become humble and submissive before the Lord and your husband, I suggest you have as many children as the dear Lord will bless you with.
And take it from there.

I have had the same problem... I was raised by a woman who was the head of the home, and my dad sat back and let her run it. After I got married, God started dealing with me. Usually during a fight with my hubbie. Once I let my pride go and learned that God is in control, I was able to let go of my controlling behavior. You hubbie answers to God, and you answer to God. God told you to help and let your hubbie lead. NO MATTER WHAT! Even if you think he's doing it all the wrong way, let him lead. God will deal with your hubbie. If you have faith in the Lord, God will be there for your family. Let God work in your heart and you will see a change in your home! Read "Power of a praying wife." This will help too.

im not a wife but as a male, i feel you should examine yourself and ask yourself if u have done all u can, god does not ask us to b slaves or go overboard, he asks us to b "wise", ur husband in ministry should b wise enough to recognize ur efforts, he should b able to accept the things u have done, don't spend ur time trying to figure out a stragedy, be who u are and he will either accept u or not, if he told u to be a martyer, would u,???we need to think , life is not about the other person, it is about the two of u,,,start being wise and execute only the talents god gave u,,,good luck. scorpion

Meditate on the scriptures concerning women. Begin with Adam and Eve, Abraham and Sarah. Look in the New Testament for how a Christian woman and wife should behave.

Ask him how you can show your support. Ask him to (without anger) tell you how you could improve. Offer to do one he wants for one week while he does one thing for you. See how your relationship went during the week. If better, try to continue the practise.
