What is normal? We are all different from each other and who can judge what is normal. Normality as defined by society changes all the time. Today's normality is not necessary tomorrow's.
Each person radiates energy, the energy differs from one individual to the other, unless of course in the case of some identical twins who are a mirror image of each other or bonded by some metabolism though the individuals might not be twins.
The reason why people just look at you if you are of average height, looks or mannerisms, could also be that you have a strong magnetic attraction.

How Come on those commercials for beds and matresses?
As for what the couples are wearing or what the body shape is is relevant to the target audience, ie who is watching. So if it is prime time expect to see the models but if its early in the morning or late night expect to see the normal folks.
