It's my personal experience that tells you this.ABS pipe and PVC pipe won't work well together because the ABS pipe will expand, whereas the PVC pipe won't.They will glue together, but when there is a temperature change, the ABS pipe will either contract or expand, being either cold or hot, causing the glue to come loose. My best advise is to use either all ABS or all PVC pipe.

The only differences between PVC and ABS is color and what the pipes are made of. IF possible, let the glue joint set longer than usual. The ABS gets softer faster with the glue, so it takes longer to set up. The reason ABS is not used much is because in case of fire, the ABS when it burns gives off toxic and poisonous fumes. Make sure you support the joint well so it doesn't sag. Other than that, they should work well together! Good luck!!

basically there is nothing wrong but the dimension for the fitting for ABS and PVC are different,ID and OD.The best solution is to use a ABS fitting with a plain socket with a tread end(valve socket)to connect with a PVC pipe(PE socket for PVC) Male connector and female connector.
Or alternately use 2 packs epoxy for plastic application on the connection fitting(ABS +PVC)
Both PVC and ABS give off toxic gas when burnt.ABS pipe more expensive

I would say to use your best judgment. If the bond looks sufficient for the purpose (sewer, drain), then go ahead and glue it. You can also try a fernco coupler, or a metal coupler if you have doubts about the glue.
Good Luck
