omg you asked the right person! okay well just to let you know, i went to 5 schools in the last 8 years. i have been the new kid many times. here are some tips for surviving a new school:
first, the first person you see, just say hi. be friendly to everyone. immediatly.
2) in your first class, you might have to partner up with someone to do a project or something. find the first person and ask. most people will say yes right away.
3) the most important time during the school day: lunch. look around at everyone and think to yourself: popular, jock, geek, nerd, groupies, semi populars, or normals. pick out which social group you think you will most get along with. sit at that table and do 1 of 2 things: get chatting right away, or just watch people. see what they are like. you may strike up a new friendship.
4) after lunch is over, in each of your classes, repeat the first step. partner up with someone and hope it works out. if you are having no luck still, talk to the counselor or another teacher, anybody. start by asking this: " what is a good way to make friends" i know they will help you. you can also get enrolled in clubs or in school activities.
okay....i hope that works for you. it did for me. now, as for your classes. here are a few ways to know your way around the school
1) first, about a week before school starts, go to your school. grab your schedule and walk around so you know where your classes are ahead of time. if you dont know where to go, all staff will be there. you can ask a conselor or maybe other students signing up for registration or walking around just like you.
2) also, you can grab a school map. that will help you also.
3) once you find your classes, see if the door to the room is unlocked. if it is, the teacher should be inside. talk to the teacher and get to know him/her.
well, i hope this will help you get used to your new school. it sure helped me. honestly, i dont care if i get picked best answer, i just glad i could help you. good luck!
