no not really... i'm NOT saying you are fat.. you are probably just a little curvy.. which is GREAT =].. but if you want to, maybe just excersize a little more, and eat a little better.. other than that.. don't worry.. you're probably still just getting used to your body. maybe have a salad for lunch and don't have some low fat cream cheese on a plain bagel. do some crunches, and take a run around the neighborhood. don't spend you're teenage life worrying about weight. you're fine.

best of luck! xox- manda

When I was 15, I worked out constantly (and still do, I'm 19) and was about 120 and 5'6''. Right now I am about 134 and still am the same height.
I'd say that 155 pounds is a lot... watch your weight and exercise- this is the time to build your bones by exercising and drinking milk or putting a lot of calcium in your diet.

According to the CDC you are not overweight, but are near the top of the percentile for your weight and are "at risk for becoming overweight." See for yourself here: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/

If you decide to lose weight, please do it sensibly. Good Luck.

P.S. There will be a link that says, "What does this mean?" and "What should I do?" Click on these for tips.
And this site doesn't take into consideration if you happen to be more muscular than most people, since muscle weighs more than fat. You can go to a nutritionist or trainer and they can also tell you your body fat.

For 5ft6 you should weight between 120 and 155 depending on your frame. So you are just verging on overweight. Take action now and you will be fine. Consider maybe dropping 10-15lb.

Do you feel comfortable with the way you look?
If you answer yes, why are you asking the question.

Do you get winded when you walk long distances?
If you answer yes, get some exercise.

At 15 I was 5' 10" and weighed 155lbs. I was very thin.

Take charge of your body's intake and physical conditioning, eat more fruits and vegetables and get 30 minutes of strenuous physical activity a day.

If you are only 15 and already 5'6", I wouldn't worry about it. You are going to be getting taller, more than likely. As for your body weight and frame you are a perfect size, I don't know how age factors in. I am too 5'6" and I am told 155 is ideal weight.

To figure your BMI,
Weight times 703=Answer
Answer divided by height(in inches)=Answer
Answer divided by height(in inches)=BMI
below 18.5=underweight
18.5-24.9=normal
25.0-29.9=overweight
30.0,up=obese
Based on this, your BMI is 25.01, which would be just a tiny bit overweight.
But I worked in a health club, and had my lean weight figured. I am also 5'6", and my lean weight(which means I wouldn't have even an ounce of fat on me) was 156, which would put me in the overweight category. It all depends on bone structure. What's important is how you feel.

Your not FAT or Overweight, maybe you need to watch what you eat before you are fat and overweight...start eating healthy...but i'm 16 and i'm like 130, and people say i'm the normal weight and your not that far away from me...so your not fat...just watch what you eat, maybe chage your scedual from not watching T.V as much, or being on the computer as much...go out side and walk around or something...

At 5'6" your bmi (body mass index) should be between 118 and 148. you are only slightly overweight providing that you have a large bone structure. If you have a small bone structure you are more overweight. These two weights are where you should fall though, to be healthy
