you have to remember thier are no guarantees on sucessful implantation, have you tried fertility drugs, they may help you conceive naturally, also has your partner been tested, maybe he has a low sperm count, there are a number of reasons that might cause you not to be able to conceive naturally besides your hormone imbalance, and a number of options for you too look at, you have to remember also that artificial insemination is vey exspensive,,m I am not telling you not to try it, but I would you it as a last resort,

I feel adoption is a great option for the classic reason of giving a needy child a good home. I feel if you do become pregnant by a close male friend, it could turn ugly. What if he suddenly wants custody of the child later on when he was mearly just supposed to be the "sperm donor." However, on the other hand, if you want your child to have a Mother and Father influence (assuming the male is willing to be a part of the child's life as a father and not just the "sperm donor"), this could be an option. I think artificial insemination is just too impersonnal. If you are going to become pregnant, I say use a close male friend so your child at least had the option of knowing who his/her father is.

The risks of the insemination itself really are not greater than those associated with pregnancy. The riskiest part will be the fertility drugs and egg harvesting before the insemination can take place. It is a surgical procedure, after all. Talk to your doctor about the risks.
It may not take the first couple of times, but don't get discouraged.

If your hormones prevent you from getting pregnant.. how do you think artificial insemination is going to work? Hormones are what KEEP your pregnancy also...
Its the same as having sex just minus the penis... So I'm not quite following you as to why AI would work and regular sex wouldn't...

it is nothing different than usual insemination except that the egg and sperm mix in a petry dish, it is very expensive and doesn't always work, if you want a baby bad enough it is a good method, but if it fails you have waisted a lot of money, so research your doctors thoroughly first and i say go for it.

Artificial insemination is the same as having sex...they inject sperm into your uterus. If you can't have babies normally...I doubt this would work either...how bout trying invitro fertilization...where they take hubbies sperm your egg...make the embryo in a petrie dish, then implant the embryo in you.

GO FOR IT!!!!! You have every, but every right to become a mother and know your blood. I'm all for it. Remember this, you'll have people in your life to disagree. Don't you pay any attention to any negativity. As long as the two of you desire a baby, it's all that matters and nobody should ever prevent you from your dreams.

We went this route during our fertility adventures and there is nothing wrong with it. All it does is give the baby's father's sperm a shorter distance to travel to get to the egg. It doesn't change anything and If he is there with you, holding your hand, it can be a beautiful experience. Good luck!!!!!

Me, there is not reason this would not be healthy. Nothing could go wrong. I am getting ready to start IUI. I have a relative that has already went through it and she had absolutely no problems. Jenni

There is nothing I can see that could be a problem with AI as long as you are going to a reputable hospital and have good doctors.
