I think it's a good idea because you can make sure you are truly compatible with your future mate. Whether or not it will make the marriage last longer is up to the two people involved.

I think Premarital counseling is a great idea.
A lot of people have a wedding without thinking about the marriage after it! LOL
Especially long term goals and financial situations. A good councilor will help you focus on areas of difference and meet in the middle, before you jump in so you start with reasonable expectations.

Premarital counseling is good. The only thing that can make your marriage last longer is God, your wife and yourself.
God Bless you both.

Yes--you have to be able to talk about the tough subjects, or you simply aren't ready for marriage.
If anything about it makes you uncomfortable, then you should reconsider if it's really time to tie the knot or not.
Financial counseling is key, too--you should know each other's financial status, credit reports, habits, etc. HUGE issue in most marriages, often cause for divorce.

No matter what you find out one thing is for certain,
you can never learn less! (Marshall Thurber quote)
Go for it.
May be a real eye opener....
Or a deal breaker!
Best to be prepared for either!
