Well, the three kids in real life are siblings, that's why. But I HATE watching a TV show with two dark brunettes then seeing blond hair blue eyed children. If they want to make it more realistic, they should try to find child actors that actually look like they could be the children of the adults. It's annoying. A lot of shows do that.

Must have been the only child actors that didn't have work. In fact they are all related, brothers and a sister in real life and if the last name says anything then they are also younger siblings of Jodie Sweetin that was on Full House. Pretty odd how they were all on sitcoms, wonder if those three will ever work again I know their sis didn't do much after Full House but I also heard she wanted to return to having a normal life (like that is possible after being a star for years).

I think because the Ray's grandmother is blonde.
Also, the family is white, so blonde could easily be in their genetics, but Ray & Debra just ended up having dark hair. I know because I was a biology major. What would be weird is if 2 Asians produced a blonde...

Depends if blondness runs in the family. I know a couple that had a boy, he was a brunette and so was she, but there boy was dark strawberry blond. So it's all in the gene's or they just crewed up when picking kids for the show.

I'm changing my answer. I think that I heard one time that blondes are just more appealing, not that I necessarily agree with that. It's just like the three little blonde girls on Full House, whose parents were both dark-haired. Doesn't really make sense, but it seems that it's what the audience likes.

That always bothered me too!! I mean, could they have gotten more unlikely children to play their kids? Not only do they look nothing like either of them, the blonde hair just makes it even more unbelievable.

Because that is who was cast.
It is not impossible for them to have blonde children. Study up on genetics to learn more.
