Should the US get involved in the Israel-Lebanon Crisis?

We are involved, whether we like it or not. As the only super-power on the planet, all eyes are on the US for answers, settlement, direction for peace.

But no, we should not get involved militarily; nor do I think we will.

We are fighting a war against terror (as Mr. Bush says)--so we have a difficult time reprimanding Israel very hard for their "war" against the Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon. The truly knotty issue is that Hezbollah has Syria's backing...and Hamas (the other terrorist group Israel is fighting) has Iran's backing.

If Iran and Syria were to get involved, the Middle-East is a potential powder-keg. And negotiating with avowed terrorist groups has historically been fruitless. So Israel continues to defend its "right to exist." By fighting the Hezbollah terrorists in Lebanon, they hope to attain their goal of having the Lebanese drive them out.

As you can see, it's all very tricky, as all Mid-East questions always are.

Has anybody read the news last Friday about the US rushing military equipment to Israel in order to "help with this crisis?" Just pick any news website, the new york times has it clearly. Equipment worth hundreds of millions of dollars, most of which is granted? Is that not involvement? Are the Arabs looking up the sky at American F-15s and F-16s dropping American cluster bombs flattening entire neighborhoods and burning children not going to think America had something to do with it?
And you ask that question again and again: why do they hate us?

I'd rather answer this question with a question. Really, when you look deeply at the world and what is going on...what isn't the US involved in?

I do. this is the main actively treacherous u . s . in the midsection East as nicely Iran. Syria is a conduit for terror and violence in Lebanon and Palestine and till u . s . a . of america crushes the Assad regime with the aid of the utility of our stronger militia rigidity. issues are unlikely to alter for the extra effectual in the midsection East on a extra or much less everlasting foundation till Assad is bumped off and his regime destroyed and adjusted with the aid of a democratic government chosen freely with the aid of the Syrian people. Assad is a corrupt and ruthless dictator who's the enemy of u . s . a . of america. we ought to constantly no longer accommodate Assad's regime or artwork with him in any way. ASSAD IS OUR ENEMY. financial sanctions won't artwork against a dictator like Assad whose own protection forces are shooting down Syrian babies in the streets of Dara. Assad and his regime are previous reform. purely a fool could proceed to speak of reforming a Syria headed with the aid of Assad. we ought to constantly be doing each thing in our capability to do away with Assad as swiftly as attainable. ASSAD IS OUR ENEMY. A US foreign places coverage in the direction of Syria based upon lodging and reform is hopelessly ineffective. if actuality be told, this is delusional. ASSAD IS OUR ENEMY. US foreign places coverage ought to concentration on removing Assad and assisting the Syrian professional-democracy flow be triumphant in this combat for the soul of Syria. What else do you quite should be responsive to?

all the US should do is try to get some sanctions to be put on israel if they dont stop bombing and pursue diplomatic means. bombing a terrorist stronghold could be justified, but bombing civilian populated areas can never be.
