Something that isn't alive can't possibly turn in to something that is. So lets get this straight. Either we're killing something that is alive or we're admmiting that a thing that wasn't alive just took a breath one day. If you believe the later please name me one instance where an inanamit object took a breath. I would be very interested to here about it.

It doesn't matter what you think about it, does it?
Whether or not someone needs an abortion is that person's business.
If you think she and whoever helps her are going to hell, that's your opinion.
Why can't you just keep your nose out of others' business, and tend to your own soul?

The reason it is legal is to get it out of the back alleys, where women were being butchered. Whether it's legal or not, it will go on, just as people kept drinking during prohibition, and died from bad illegal booze.

The government is in place to protect humans. The meaning of the word "human" is questionable, therefore, to give people the benefit of the doubt, seeing as how unborn fetuses can't argue their point, it is legal. Until someone can prove that fetuses are humans, which would also entail strictly defining what a human is, the debate will remain.

I feel abortion should be legal because it's not the government's decision. The government is there to protect its citizens, and if fetuses may not be humans, they may not be considered a citizen yet. So, for the time being, people will make their own decisions about themselves and their kids. I hate abortion, and I would never get one, and I would do everything I can to prevent anyone I know from getting one. But with a subject that does not have defined terms, and is full of opinions, and not so much hard indisputable fact, the law should side with freedom of Americans.

I agree that it is sad. just because something is living doesn't mean you shouldn't kill it. I eat carrots, they're living. Also, men are constantly producing sperm, so just because one of the could potentially be a life, would it be wrong to masturbate? Would it be wrong for a person to even refrain from having sex? I mean, any person that chooses to not have sex would be ruining a perfectly good chance at a potential life.

Again, I am strictly anti abortion, but prochoice. I am merely answering your question as to why it is legal.

I truly did not believe in abortion until i was raped and beaten and left to die by 5 men.... and what do you know 1 month later i found out that i was pregnant. It was a decision that i had to make and i chose to have an abortion... it is a very hard decision women have to make.. i couldn't go through with the pregnancy due to medical problems and have caught hell ever since from people about having an abortion. People need to realize that things happen in this world that we have no control over. but for me it was a choice between my life or the baby's...

I'm guessing you're male. . . they are generally the ones with strong opinions about this. Women tend to understand that things aren't black or white, and that women can be caught in difficult circumstances.

Re: killing things that are alive: we are killing innocent civilians around the world through our thoughtless policies, or policies based on economics rather than social justice.

Abortion is a tough decision at best, but it is legal and a civil right; most Americans know that going backwards in civil rights issues are a bad idea.

Finally you might consider consulting a dictionary so that your questions may appear well-thought out. best wishes.

You've never been the victim of rape, have you? You've never been horrified to know that you're carrying the child of your attacker, and will have to look at that (unwanted) child and remember the horror of it every day as you nurture it. You've never been the victim of incest, and had your dad or uncle or family friend crawl into bed with you and touch you in unspeakable ways and take your virginity against your will.

Those types of cases are why abortion should be legal. So women don't have to find someone who will do it illegally, or try to do it themselves with coat hangers, undoubtedly taking their own lives in the process.

I am against abortion for myself, because any child I conceived would be welcomed wholeheartedly. But I would never condemn an underage girl (who is underage by law, but able to have children by virtue of having a period) or a victim of an attack to have to carry a baby for 9 months knowing whose child it is. Would you rather she have the baby and then neglect it? Or stuff it in a garbage bag because she was too embarrassed to tell her family?

Whether this is a living being or not is irrelevant. Of course, life is precious. But as a society we have no problem with killing murderous convicts. That's taking life. We have no problem killing innocent people in other countries with this war on terror. Getting rid of an unwanted group of cells shouldn't be such an issue, right?

The reason it is legal is because 1) the Supreme Court Justices lied about the Constitution and 2) many people like the result of the lie.

That unborn baby is a life. It was the day the sperm and the egg met. Think about it. It is living and growing inside of you. It is alive, it is your blood, your baby. Forget the father for awhile. That baby is yours, you choose to have unprotected sex, which means you choose to have that baby, so that means that it is your baby, your child, your responsibility, and you need to take care of it. You cannot undo something that you have created, it is not nature's way. It is not God's way. Only God can undo what has been created. You created that baby, so you need to love that baby.

IT DOESN'T MATTER HOW A WOMAN GOT PREGNANT!
ABORTION IS MURDERING A LIVELY INNOCENT BABY!!
Whats wrong with everyone, honestly?? No matter if it was from having unprotected sex or from rape.. it is still a gift created by God. Women need to realize how special that is and not just kill their babies and throw them away like a piece of garbage!
What right to we as human being have to destroy God's creation? No right what so ever

Abortion is legal because before it was legal women were killing themselves by having too many children and by giving themselves abortions or having an unskilled person to do it. I don't agree/like abortion but I do feel like it is a necessary evil.

Abortion is legal because the world is going to hell in a handbasket.

It's murder. For those who feel it's a mother's choice-nope-sorry. Her choice was to have unprotected sex. Her choice was to have sex at all-THAT is a choice. Pregnancy is a consequence. We have become such a selfish, self centered society that we can justify the slaughter of the most innocent of beings.
