All birds have a physiological particularity to do not keep faeces until reaching a more distanced place. Also the width of opened wings should be several times higher than a being... If to think only about these two things related with flying, I am not sure I would choose that people had such option if we could vote. Not so big tragedy if a small nourished bird passes over you. But just imagine a peson from a well nourished nation. Housing problems too. LOL.

God either gave wings or legs(I'm not talking about bird legs), or both.
But the creatures that have both only use one like the Ostrich.
We just happened to get legs. But hey, I'd rather get the human brain that the bird or bug brain.

First off, evolution is proven, with plants and such, and there has been slight evolution in the human DNA but as fat as apes n such go turning to humans, i think not, sorry to get off track, we cannot grow wings because we are lame, to answer your question ):
