Does 0 sperm mean we may never conceive? He had mumps when he was 5 yrs. old. He is now 32 and has never really been sick. Could it be possible that he does not produce any sperm?

There has to sperm to fertilize an egg. So, without sperm, you're not going to be able to conceive. Sorry!

Mumps is known for causing infertility in men. Generally, 0 sperm would mean that the sperm count is so low as to be impossible to concieve. I really think, though, that you should get some clarification on what that means before you panic. If it turns out that this is true, there are many options open to you. Please speak to a fertility doctor.

CJ, I am not sure what you circumstances are but please get a second opinion if you have not already. My husband and I had our first semen analysis at our local hospital which does not have a very good reputation. We were told the count was only 12 thousand. When we got a second opinion at an andrology lab in a bigger city it was up to 24 million. In case you did not know normal is between 20 and 60 million.

Anyway, if he does have zero the only way you will be able to become pregnant is to have a donor. It can be from a bank or from someone you know. If it does not come from a bank it will have to be banked for up to six months in order for it to be tested. They can inseminate you with it or if you have problems too or it does not take they could remove your eggs and do invetro. Just be there for your husband right now and do not press discussing the options until he is ready. Good Luck, Jenni

I don't know anything about the pH, but I do know that you do NOT have a motility problem. The higher the number, the better. Means more sperm want to swim to your egg. Anything under 50%, they suggest doing an insemination, so the sperm don't have to swim as far. I'm sorry about the 3 miscarriages. Keep the faith---baby dust to you!

It sounds like he's had a sperm count already. If it came up zero, then, no, you cannot possibly get pregnant by him. I had an ex-boyfriend who was sterile because of the same thing. No kids.

0 sperm means that he will never be able to have children. Under any circumstance, under any kind of fertility treatments.

Well, God only gives you what you can handle.

zero sperm means he is infertile....time to look at other options..like adoptions...or sperm donor who looks like your husband..i saw it on discovery channel this weekend...a man who couldnt concieve children used another mans sperm who looked just like him ..and he has 8 children by that same donor..two sets of quads and one single child,....(one of the quads died in the womb resulting in triplets).....so therefore 8 children....

hope this helps you...

You should have asked the doctor what all that meant but apparently it does mean he cannot produce.
