Sometimes it's good to worry about what other people think. There is a correct or inappropriate way to speak, dress, etc. for every occassion.

It is never appropriate, though, to do whatever you want, no matter what, when other people are affected by it.

If your friend wants to dress or act in such a way as to be acceptable to as many people as possible, leave her alone, as long as she is not acting in a manner totally out of character for her.

Wanting to conform and get along in society is not low self-esteem or any other type of problem.

try to get her to understand that she just has to be herself.
She shouldnt listen tow hat the other ppl say.
she should be who she wants to be, not somebody different, just to be liked. She would just be another clone. JUst tell ehr that she deserves to do waht she wants. she has the rights to look, act, and everything else the way SHE wants too.

we all go through this stage in life to be accepted. we are not hermits. she needs to find her place in life-how young is she? maybe she needs a job or a goal to have a feeling of control over her own life.
