I sing to my baby when I change him. It makes him stop crying and he will even stay still! I always sing the abc's, he loves it and I hope eventually he will learn is abc's that way! Choose a song and make it a routine. I also give my son a toy to play with and hold on to.

I don't know how your baby is, but when I had this problem with my girls it was because they were newborn and didn't want to be exposed. I placed a receiving blanket over their chest and talked to them while I changed their diapers. It worked for me. They didn't feel alone or exposed. Now when my youngest at 6 mos cries is for a diaper change it is usually because she is hungry and doesn't want the changing process.

If she is still a infant it might be because she is getting cold while you change her. You might want to try a wipe warmer if you think that could be it. If she is older try giving her a toy to place with while you change her. Also singing and making funny fases helps.

Having your baby cry while changing her is OK. You can make faces, talk, sing, etc., and eventually your child will laugh at you.
