I agree with you! The way we think, feel, act and even curtain beliefs all come from our surroundings, such as: environment we where raised in, the person's that where around(such as family, friends neighboprs, etc) and the things we witnessed and felt....seen...in short....the struggles of the hoodz. There are people out there that don't care about themselves or others, and there are some that feel money and violence solves all our problems. T.V has alot to do with the death of our society, of the death we are bringing upon ourselves....such as movies like killa(cam'ron), weight loss comercials that tell us we are too fat, the different figures of television that tells us we need to wear pumas, nikes, timbos, enyce, etc....In my hood there's drive by shootinz, brothaz posted up in the hood, drug addicts, ****** shootin' up in our gangways and alleys and police brutallity. Alot of our future(children) that are growing up in these neighborhood will not have a future, by the time they hit eigth grade they will be like that ***** posted up in tha corner.....I know I lived it.

what you're talking about cars, bling, sex, drugs, violence is in "rap" music such as the things 50 cent and Ludacris raps about, which is mainly for entertainment/dance."hiphop" has a more positive message such as the stuff that Common and Mos Def rap about.we do have a choice in what type of music/tv/movies we watch.i don't think violence in the media should be taken for face value because it is for the purpose of entertainment.people who commit violence after listening to rap music or watching a violent gun scene in a movie are stupid and have serious issues apart from the media.they need to seek help instead of blaming music and everyone else besides themselves.

Hip hop is a mirror of a certain level of society as it is Educaiton has gotten a down play because most get turned off to hard work and achievement -- especially, when you have everything to get a good job, but you can't get hired because of someones bigotry. You earn a good education to earn a good jobto make money to pay the bills (that is a rap-a-round scenario. Easy money, easy times, easy women and men, -- HARD, FAST AND FURIOUS. They want to live life to the fullest and die young -- just look at your local graveyard and see the ages of the fallen. A good song can uplift you to do great things -- lifke a pat on the back, a hand-up or taking a chance with an unknown. I believe that outlaws (gangsters) want to make a name for themselves the easy way by being violent. But unfortunately, you live by the gun, you die by the gun.

Sex, drugs, and violence certainly play a part in making our society what it has become. But there are other things going on too. When women started working outside the home, children were often left with no adult supervision when they were too young to be responsible. With both parents working long hours, the routine of sitting down as a family to meals became a rare event. When people stopped taking their wedding vows seriously and the divorce rate went through the roof, many children lost the benefit of being raised in loving homes. When the Hippie generation turned on to drugs and turned off to morality, the stage was set for more trouble. When they became parents, many of them lacked the necessary skills to raise children to be respectful, law-abiding citizens. When the Supreme Court took God out of the schools, the Ten Commandments off the walls of public buildings, and prayer out of the schools, the guns and gangs moved in! When homosexuality began to be touted as an alternate lifestyle instead of the abomination to God that it is, more immorality and disease grew rampant. When kids were allowed to spend their leisure time in front of the TV or glued to violent video games, they no longer played long and hard outside in the fresh air and sunshine so they could physically wear themselves out and grow strong and healthy. When liberal judges took over the court system, criminals were allowed to walk with only a slap on the wrist. When sex offenders and child molesters were allowed to walk free to offend again and again, children grew up emotionally injured for life if they were lucky. Some were killed before they had a chance to grow up. So the issue of what's happened to our society is complex and one that cannot be easily patched up at this late date!

No, we are killing our society with ignorance and stupidity. The media does not creat violence. It only portrays the already existant violence of the people. It always outrages me when people don't understand that simple notion.

I agree with you about the bad rap, but what we listen to is a matter of choice if we choose to exercise it. Make your own decisions and don't let any type of music influence you to do something you don't want to do. Use your own free will and make your own decisions. Musical fads come and go like the weather.

some people thik that despite if it fairly is in a video game it would be alright to do in genuine existence. the line between fact and the game gets alittle foggy for them. if there have been not any extremly violent video games this subject won't be as undesirable.
