I have heard that both kinds are fun. I've always wanted to do acoustic, but my friend recomendeds electric, and I have no clue as to which one i should choose. Plz help me make my decision, and following your choice, plz list any experiences or reasons why.

Yes, this is for lesson purposes. Which one is easier to handle, fun to learn, etc. Please dont consider: I like ____ because its cooler an opinion. I would love if you shared experiences with either guitar. If you've tried both, even better. Thanks!

If you don't know how to play guitars yet, then I don't recommend electric. You will enjoy it only when you know at least the basics. So I recommend going for an acoustic (or even a classical). Once you are OK with it (probably 6 months to 2 years if you are new), then maybe consider getting an electric one.

You should do acoustic first. Acoustic guitars are a little bit more complicated. If you get good with an acoustic you will have no problem with electric guitars. You'll see it as piece of cake.

It all depends on what type of sound you're going for. Electrics are more like rock n' roll and acoustics are more melodic. I'm learning how to play on a 12-string acoustic...its so pretty, but my fingers pay the price.

Why not get an accoustic guitar with an electronic pickup? I play Classical guitar and it has an electronic pickup. When I play it through some pedals and an amp well lets just say it really rocks but I can also play quietly when I want to and not disturb anyone else. You can buy any guitar at my links on the Third Source below.

well i personally have an acoustic that can also be an electric but it really depends on your type of personality. if you are more calm then i would recoment acoustic but if you are a wild person, then an electric would probably suit you best. overall though, i would probably recommend electric.

if this is for lesson purposes, acoustic. Aside from being cheaper, it's easier to practice on and easier to take from place to place.
