While mimeograph machines were still around in the mid 1980s, there weren't many of them left, as Xerox had become a force to be reckoned with by that time. I last used one in 1975, so I'd say that the average person would have to be around 35 or so to honestly remember the smell. There may be younger ones, but the machines they had to be using were very rare, so there won't be many.
Wow, what a memory. The smell and the purple ink. LOL.

I'm 50 and I remember that. Gave me a bit of a high, which probably explained why I did so erratic on the tests.
I used a mimeograph machine as late as 1977.

I thought those were called ditto machines. I don't remember the odor but I remember it getting on my fingers. So long, ditto machine! I never loved thee.
