So, since telling my mother-in-law that I am pregnant, she has gave me and my husband heck!!! I guess because I really don't look 4 months pregnant, she its telling my husband and everyone that I am faking the pregnancy. She said she wouldn't believe it until she saw a test from the doctor that said I was.

So, anyway I went to the doctor today, and they agreed to give me another pregnancy test to show her. Almost automatically it was positive. Which was no surprise to me. So, we continued with the rest of the papaerwork, and the nurse went to hand me the test to take with me, and the 2nd line had disappeared. We were both amazed!!! Why would the line just go away after like 5 minutes??
Does this mean??

Why are you even worrying about this woman?? Obviously she is not wanting to be in your life. What a supportive mom!

I would just allow her to say what she wants. Let her eat crow when she sees that tummy you will have. Let her miss out on a very special time in her sons life. What an ignorant, shallow person. She will regret it when it was time for that visit from grandma, and you and your kid have other plans. . .

And the line goes away because the level of the hormones "fade" as they sit. The instructions typically tell you to read the test a few minutes after taking it, but not more than five minutes later.

Did they schedule you an ultrasound or do blood work to check your levels.. could have been a bad pregnancy test!!!
I would be more bothered with the disappearing line on the test then i would be about my mother-in-law!!
What gives her the right to doubt your word.. i sure would not have gone back to get proof wait until you start showing then she'll believe you... ask the Dr. to do an ultrasound or blood work to make sure that you are pregnant and everything is OK with the baby.. I hope it was not a false positive!!!

The packaging on all the pregnancy tests I have taken have always said to read the test in the first two minutes, and to not read it after that because the lines may disappear. I don't know why it does that, but it is normal. I would tell your mother in law to go stick it, it ain't for her to believe if you are pregnant, it is between you and your husband.

Im not sure about the line but why dont you get the nurse to give you a paper confirming the pregnancy. I know they have to give you a proof of pregnancy if your applying for wic If you want it I think they charge 5 dollars for the document. If your doctors office dont provide it I know for sure the board of health does you just have to do a free pregnancy test there and then pay for the proof of pregnancy. Good luck and congrats dont let your mother in law spoil it for you!

it is true the lines go away after 5 minutes.my sister had 2 kids.both times she took a pregnancy test and the test said negative until she was 3 months along with both.if you feel that you need to show proof to convince her that your pregnant dont show her keep her in the dark just let her find out the hard way and embrace your pregnancy and be around the one who love and support you and your husband .good luck best wishes.

It is not unusual at 4 months not to be showing.
Her son should tell her to butt out! Sounds like the woman is a handful! Been there! Congrats and Good luck!

You shouldn't have to prove anything to anyone. If she has doubts that's her problem....just concentrate on taking care of yourself and that baby.
