I refuse to shop at Walmart, but most people don't care about the big picture and just want to buy cheap stuff.

I don;t have to read anything,. The reason I don't shop at Wal-Mart is (a) there are none nearby, (b) it's all crap I don't need and (c) I'd sooner get points at Shopper Drug and Air Miles at Safeway.

To me, Wal-Mart is a store for the poor. I'm not poor so why would I shop there?

The problem isn't Wal-Mart, the problem is the local govenrments that are giving all the tax relief to Wal-Mart.

Wal-Mart can't spend taxpayers' dollars, only the people who collect the taxes can. If you want to put a stop to the wanton spending of taxes, hold the politicians who collect and spend the taxes accoutable. Afterall, it's not their money, it's yours.

Good point! This is nothing though, compared to the slave labor conditions in the Chinese factories where most of what you buy at Wal-Mart is made.

I try not to shop there anyways. But, with the current state of the US economy, and the fact that EVERYTHING you buy has almost doubled in price, while wages have not kept up, guess what? More and more people will be forced to shop there.

I am proud to shop at Walmart and I am not poor. I am a smart consumer that wants to spend less than I make. Long Live Low Prices!

the problem with walmart that most economist are afraid of is that walmart is pushing a lot of business out of the market and eventually there will be ONLY walmart and then walmart can jack up the prices as much as they want because there are no more alternative stoers people can go to, its kind of like your local utility services or your cable services

Why does Walmart pay low salaries. Because the minimum wages mandated by the goverment are low. So it is not the fault of Walmart for paying low salaries and benefits.
