First of all, honesty is always the best policy. You seem to accept who you are and my guess is, your roommate will as well.
If your roommate is straight, then coming on to him may only serve to disrupt your roommate / friendship. I don't see where anything good could come of trying to seduce him. There is nothing wrong with fantasizing but leave it at that.

actually something similar happened to me, but my roommate was drunk and he didn't break up with his girl. Try leaving magazines orvideos around so he knows you're gay. Then leave plenty of alcohol around so he'll get drunk. If he wants it fromyou, he'll ask when he's drunk

Since, it's just a fantasy I think you should keep it that way, but if you wanna pursue him, then I would leave some things like magazines and other gay things around to see if he is attracted. and if he is then maybe continue things from there.
