Trying to determine where to relocate; doing some research.

How far away is it from downtown Houston? What is the traffic like? Is it affordable? Does it flood during hurricane season? Are there good salaries? Are there plenty of parks and entertaiment areas? Is it diverse in races as some people say? Which is better: The Woodlands, TX or Sugar Land, TX?

Woodlands is further away and to the north.
Sugarland is closer and to the south.
Taxes favor the Woodlands over Sugarland
Both are booming diverse communities with good schools and lots of stores to choose from.'
Houses in Sugarland start at $150,000 on up.
Houses in the Wooodlands will probably start at $200,000
Most of the Rockets and many of the Texans live in the Sugarland.
Stormwise, neither is exactly where I would be living.
Sugarland is in the hurrican side of town.
The Woodlands are in the tornado side of town
Your best bet is Sugarland though you should be able to find a house in the middle Bellaire or Alief, maybe Memorial or if you are rich Piney Point.

As far as The Woodlands goes, I would say move to Spring. You would be between The Woodlands and Houston (In Spring it's about 25 min to downtown, you get all the ammenities of The Woodlands, but taxes are lower). It's racially diverse, there is no flooding in most Spring areas, traffic is OK, but you'll get that all over Houston. There are lots of jobs and lots to do since you are so close to Houston (and there is a lot to do in The Woodlands). We live in Spring and the worst we got during Rita was the power out some of the day. That and no place was open.

I sugguest Sugar Land. It's closer to all the Houston happenings, The Woodlands is so far away.
