I totally understand your fears. The most important thing to think about is living for today. Then when you are ready to become a parent, make sure you raise your children to become very successful in life. This way they can build you a mother-in-law house on their property so you will never have to go to a nursing home.
I'm much older than you and I have the same fears. I just try to put them out of my head and realize I will cross that bridge when I come to it.
Best of luck!

I understand, and you shouldn't be worried that you have a phobia, because everyone has one. Mine is death. Sometimes I wonder what happens after I pass; will I go to heaven or hell? And what bugs me the most is that like your phobia, you can't avoid it and it's gonna happen with or without your consent. But, just remember that you can change the outlook of your aging. You don't have to be in a nursing home; instead, you can go bungee jumping with your grandkids! Or, you can travel around the world if you wanted to. Live life on the edge! Just because you're old doesn't mean you have to sit on the couch watching reruns of all my children all day. Stay spry! Remember that you can have "fun at fifty" if you wanted, you just gotta pick how you want it!

Why do you think you're worrying about being old and alone in a nursing home? Is there a relative of yours in this situation who you love a lot? Or maybe a dear friend's relative who's old and alone?

We'd like to think that life ought to be fair and that everyone should be with someone, not alone and have their needs met. However, our idea of fairness is more rooted in an idealistic yearning of things to be right all the time. Apparently, life doesn't work that way.

I would suggest you meet this relative, friend or loved one who is alone and old and talk to him/her about your feelings, see what happens. Good luck!

Everyone fears being alone one day, and being old and unable to care for yourself. You're still very young and need to stop worrying and enjoy life and surround yourself with friends and family. It will all take care of itself in the end. Take each day at a time and have a blast. Don't waste time worrying about things out of your control.

Just think of the things you can accomplish in your life. Education, travel, relationships, and maybe even curing a disease. I don't understand the part about offending anyone though. I am 46 and age hasn't hurt me yet.

Just think of the many years ahead of you that shall be filled with happiness, marriage, family and kids to dedicate your life for, and believe me that you'll get mellow with age and take each phase of life as it comes, naturally. Long Life and Happiness for you dear.

Dont Panic! Dont think so far ahead! Think that you'll never be alone, you'll grow up to be a father, grandfather. Someone will always be watching over you!
