You should sleep when you are tired and get up when you are rested.

This will make you live a lot longer then the stress of an alarm clock.

I generally sleep 4 hours a night.

I normally get to bed between 9 and 10, get to sleep by 10:00 to 10:30, and start waking up somewhere between 2 and 4. Get up at 5:45 for work. So normally somewhere between 4 and 6 hours. Sometimes I just keep waking up, and going back to sleep all night. Never seems like quite enough sleep somehow.

It depends on the type and time of work you are doing.
In addition, it is advisable to practice sleeping both at a normal and in a flexible situation.
In addition, my waking up time is almost the same.Sleeping time varies accordingly. Do you know how to balance sleeping? Sorry for not giving you figures, the answer you are expecting. Expect unexpected answer! cheers

I sleep around 11- 12 & get up by 7-30am, so totally around 8.5 hrs. Dont be alarmed if you sleep lesser than that, we all have different sleep requirements. As long as you feel alert & active- you are probab getting enough sleep for your body to function optimally.
