OK you have a room that is 123 square feet and two rugs that you need to fit in it on it 43 square feet and the other is 16 square feet. how much square feet will be taken up in the room?

I'm guessing you meant to say one is 43 square feet and the other is 16? If so, 59 square feet are taken up, and the size of the room is irrelevant (as long as it is big enough to hold the rugs, which it may or may not be since you didn't give the dimensions; if the room is 123x1 feet, and the second rug is 4x4, you have a problem).

59 square feet will be covered by the rugs assuming you do not overlap them.

i can lay one top of the other and then all i need to use is 43 sq. ft. you didn't say if you wanted them laid flat either. i can roll them up and stand them on end and take up very little floor space
