think health care is expensive now? wait until the government runs it.
do you live in a closet or are you just a ******** moron?
1> no one will, or can, work for free.
2> government regulation is one of the largest contributors to the cost of health care and we get nothing in return. Government regulation does not add to the quality of health care, FDA approval does not guarantee that drugs are safe or effective.
3> the cost of health care will sky rocket once the government has a monopoly on it. The government school system is a perfect example. It costs 2-3 times as much as private schools and the quality of education is worse that what you will find at a private school.
If government monopolized the health care system the quality will decrease, there will be no accountability, the cost will increase, and there will no choice - no choice = no freedom.
Take a look at Canada - their health care system is a ******** disaster. Canadians who can afford to, come to the United States for treatment - they pay out of pocket even though their taxes already pay for the expense in Canada.
Socialism does not work - want proof? Try taking a look at the "mighty Soviet Union." Oh, no, it’s the FORMER Soviet Union - you know, the one that is in economic ruin because of a centrally controlled, centrally planned school system, health care system, and economy.
Of course, the socialist/communist line of thinking is completely contrary to the founding principles of the United States: personal liberty and personal responsibility. You have no rightful claim to the money earned by someone else - but that is exactly that socialism/communism does: it rewards the lazy and penalizes the working.
WAKE UP AMERICA!

Lots of happy poor and sick people or lots of angry rich people and the medical establishment. I know who I'd bet on in America!
In the UK GP's clear several hundred thousand $ a year and live like kings so the argument that they wouldn't train is a red hearing.

The pill companies? Wouldn't it make more sense if the government did that? Then you would be like Canadians. How sensible!

Nobody would want to become MD's - there'd be no money in it! But I think EVERY American citizen should be entitled to some healthcare, no matter what. Too bad it isn't like that.

I'm hoping on a united health care system. Everyone should have health insurance whether they can afford it or not.
