Well, when you're dating, you tend to be a bit more relaxed in demeanor. You are already with someone, so you don't feel the need to be perfect all the time, "just in case". People respond to that. When you're not dating, you tend to be a bit more tense. You feel as if you have to look good, sound good, smell good all the time. In other words, you're uptight.

Sometimes it is a confidence thing. People feel they don't need to impress other people so their confidence is higher because they can be themselves. Also, it could be the idea of being "Forbidden Fruit" in that when you are single, there isn't any intrigue with flirting, but when you are with someone, there is that air of intrigue

I think it's because when your with someone it makes you more desirable by others, but when your single many will feel that you may not be a challenge to obtain. And many want a challenge when trying to hook up with someone.

In social psychology it's called "scarcity theory."

You have four strawberry candy, one vanilla candy and five kids. What do you think the kids are going to choose? The vanilla candy, because it's the only one and they want it. You can apply this to dating (I guess) :D

There is something about people always wanting something they can't have. But also, you are more relaxed when you are in a relationship and not "looking" for somebody, so when you are so relaxed, you may seem to be more approachable.

Learn grammar and spelling and forget dating for a while. You need some education.
