I have a BA in Pub Admin and it is useless. If you were to go into IT what area would you recommend? How about getting certified in some area?

i have an associates in telecomm and a bs in IT, my teachers always told us that if we want to make it big and have job security and a long career to get into IT security because there will ALWAYS be issues with hackers and such especially with bigger companies and banks

look at the different fields very selectively - speak to people who are employed in those fields and find out what kind of work they really do.
speak to a computer technician, software programmer, etc. and find out what you would like to do. this is very important - do something that you would enjoy doing.
About the : if there was a resourceful, free website: it's called Google Answers and you pay for answers because theu are researched by qualified people.
