as we travell bloody fast, what would happen if it all suddenly stopped and just stood still, how would it affect the human race, nature etc etc.

The world spinning doesn't create gravity, the fact that bodies attract each other is what create gravity. Therefore with the earth the size it is, the amount of gravity is 9.81. The moon being smaller creates less gravity. Even though the earth stopped spinning it would still have gravity.
What would happen is that one side would be in perpetual darkness whilst one would be in daylight, or actually as it still rotates aroudn the sun, then you'd have 6 months dark and six months light.
You would have major climate shifts and lots more ice and stuff.
lots of animals die etc. General horrible stuff like that

If the world stopped turning, the side facing the sun would become very hot. The water from the ocean in that place would become warm and would turn to water vapor. The other side of the world would be dark and cold. The water vapor from the warm side would travel to the cold side and would condense in the form of rain at first. As the dark side got colder and colder, the rain would turn into snow.
At some point, most of the water would be frozen on the dark side of the world. There might be a few places around the "twilight" area (those areas that are stuck in dawn or dusk) where liquid water might be present, but life as we know it would be unpleasant.

Then we'd probably get hit by Pluto in a few million years time. Or the moon as it rotates around us.
Who knows what the oceans would do, the tides are controlled by the Moon's gravity so what would they do as the Moon is rotating off without us
Slightly unlikely, I think.

If the world stopped turning, that would be very bad. The Earth would lose its gravitational pull. People would go flying off randomly, the moon would slowly float away. With no moon, the waters would either be extremely calm, or extremely destructive. One side of the Earth would be doused in sunlight forever, and the other side would be eternally dark.

It would be like the moon, and all the people in China would die, and that would be a good thing in my opinion because they are going to destroy the world with all of their green house gases. Carbon dioxide emissions should only happen in North America. The other half of the world needs to be destroyedk and this would be the perfect way to do it. I am all for it.

If the earth stop everything not nail down will fly off in to space, the spinning is what is giving us the gravity to stay on the earth.

there has beeen speculation about this in the past and the generally accepted theory is that most of the life on earth would die except for a sort ot ring of life that would be created where the dark meets the light.

if it suddenly stopped everything would be thrown eastwards at 1000 mph.....
that means most things would be turned to rubble and the seas would flood the lands..
also, each day would last 12 months so life would be unsustainable.
