I like the internet and I like being able to download music and e-mail friends and read about new cars and things like that but I also think it can be negative on me.
I go to church and I try to be good and sometimes I find spam things in my email box and I'll click on them or I'll see advertisements to bad sites and I click on them kind of out of curiousity (sp?) and do things on the net that I shouldn't and what would be the best way to stop it. Is there any way I could change a setting on my computer so I wouldn't get bad website ads featuring naked women and gambling websites and things like that ??

Personally I think that the only way that the Internet could be a bad influence on you is if you let it. I mean its not like the computer is holding you hostage and whispering sweet nothings in your ear telling you to be bad.
Its all up to you my friend...and yes you can set up your e-mail to only receive what it is you want.

The people who are sending you the "bad" emails got your email address from somewhere. There is no good, effective way to stop it - what you must do is change your email address, these people won't have your new address, so the unwanted emails won't follow you.
be creful who you give your new email address to. And be careful what web sites you visit, that's where a lot of spammers and solicitors get their email address list. expecially be careful of signing up for "free" stuff on the web - this just gives someone your email address.
when you find your internet use getting out of control - exercise self-discipline. disconnect.

yeah, i agree with the guy above me, just forward those xxx e-mails over to me but don't send me the gambling ones, only a fool would gamble over the internet

get an adult blocker, and have somebody you trust - somebody you can talk to that won't mock or criticise or condemn you - and have him put in a password and not tell you.
