how long does the average marriage last?

Whats an 'avearge' marriage? I'm now on No 3, wouldnt say any of them have been 'average' all different and the last two, the steepest learning curves possible.

Marriage No1, was with the guy from the age of 16, 6 years later we married, lasted 7 years.
Marriage No 2, was with the guy a few months before getting married, then married for 11 years
Marriage No3, married for three years, but know for sure this is the 'one'

My parents have been married only the once, 48 years this coming New Years Eve! So how does anyone know what the 'average' is?
So, as you can see, I did give the first two a good crack at the whip! he he, no pun intended

The average marriage lasts 3 months --- followed by the divorce several years later!!!

they say the average marriage is 7 years

I have no idea.. frankly I wish the marriage license would have to be renewed after 5 years.. that would save alot of money in divorce court.

I think I read somewhere that on average, marriage lasts apporximately 12 years.

my hubby and i talked over a cb radio for years before we actually met. when we did meet finally we got married 1 week later. we have been married now for 22 years. marriages are all different...good luck
