You should get to know your neighbors. Invite them over play a game, share some food. get to know them and you will find out if they are shallow and snobby or friendly and down to earth. If they are snobby and shallow then you will not want to be like them because they only care about what they have. but if they are friendly and down to earth kind of people you will enjoy hanging around them and hopefully be happy that they are happy. We are all on our own journey and like you said there are children who have NOTHING and are exploited, hurt and dying. Maybe if you helped out volunteering for a cause that is near to your heart and you knew you were touching others lives with your time and money it would help take the focus off of what you don't have and you would feel good about being a positive influence in the lives of other human beings. We are here for such a short time and when we are dead nothing we ever had will ever mean anything. But being and doing good in the hearts and lives of other people will go on for generations...
I hope that helps. Take care...

What Luckistrike said.
The size of the house isn't everything: When I first moved out of my parents' home, it was into a little place not much bigger than a shed. And that I think might have actually been a converted shed. I didn't mind: It was MINE.
Meanwhile I'm sure a lot of people would like to have that swimming pool you spoke of and forget about the size of the house! ;)

Do you really think that your friends care. Because if they do, get new friends that are true friends. I have cleaned for many years and the houses I cleaned were like manisions. I bought a house for 25,000 and had to tear it apart myself and fix it up. But it never measured up to their houses. But I planted lots of flowers around the outside and decorated it inside really nice. My house looks more friendly and comfortable than theirs. I may have a small house but its mine, and I take pride in it. Don"t compare yourself to others or you will never be happy, just be happy for what you got. Maybe you have things that they wish they had in their houses. If you spend time working in a flower garden you might be happy too watching everything grow and knowing you did it all by yourself. Take pride in what you have accomplished.

You may as well stop thinking about it. Honest. There will always be someone - either you know or don't know - that'll have something better than you. Think about what you DO have! Maybe try being envious of yourself! That's worked for me before. I wish you luck.

Don't worry about it, you'll soon discover boys and then your house is the last place you'll want to be.
