if you don't want water to go into your nose exhale when your turn.

when your head go under water hold for a while and then start exhaling (slowly/ faster, depending on how long it takes for you to take your next breath).

when you turn keep on exhaling until your nose is above water. that should solve the problem.

if not you can always try nose clips. never use them before but i heard it works.

Breathe out your nose heavily while underwater. When you flip, the water is shoved up your nose. Give is one big toot while flipping, but make sure you still have some air so you can push off and kick. I feel your pain, and it still gets me every once in a while after I do a backstroke flip turn, but never on free. It's weird.

Hi there- I swim everyday & use a plastic & rubber Speedo nose clip- they are very comfortable & only cost $2.00. They really work.

You'll have to get used to breathing through your mouth only but you can exhale slightly through the clip

try wearing a nose clip.. it's not pretty or anything but it keeps the pain away or you could blow bubbles out of your nose. Everybody knows that. We learned it in our first swimming lessons!

Exhale through your nose as you turn & water can't go up your nose. This works for me.
