I believe we have all those you mentioned and probably more. I have lived here 10 years and found that my alleries which I used to never have are now a common occurence. I have noticed my asthma has gotten worse as a result. Now I am not sure if this is all environment or the fact that I have aged 10 years and no longer 21. I hear 50/50 of ppl with my similiar situation and then the other 50% take the other way and say their allergies disappeared when they moved here. It's hard to say. I had similiar problems when we lived in California to. I am orginally from the East Coast so who knows.
Vegas is a great place to live, jobs are endless, and living is okay. Right now it's so hot though and will make you miserable. We have a joke if you can make it through your first summer then you will love living here.

I have lived in Vegas for a little over one year, and from July to March I didn't have any allergies (which is strange because back home in Michigan I was allergic to anything and everything!) Once April rolled around everything started to bloom, so that was a killer. The number one allergen in Las Vegas is the mulberry bush (actually a tree, not a bush). I have had horrible allergies since April...but hopefully everything will die down now that July is nearly over (usually everything gets back to normal by mid to late August). Anyway, I hope you choose Las Vegas instead of California! While I'm sure Cali is a nice place to visit, I sure wouldn't want to live there! Too crowded and such. Las Vegas is a nice place to live with MANY job opportunities and ALWAYS something to do. Good luck to you and your fiance!

i don't believe there is one type of 'asthma' or 'allergy'. These are blanket terms to describe a cluster of symptoms. What causes your allergies might be much different than mine. My doctor believes it's a break down of the immune system. If i were you, i'd get on a good nutritional program then go visit the places you have in mind for an extended time. I suggest springtime to evaluate your own health issues. I had NO asthma until spring hit.
Las Vegas sits in a 'bowl'. It is hot and dry with constant wind blowing desert dust. The 'bowl' holds smog, and pollens from a much wider variety of plant life than one would encounter east of the Mississippi.
There is a product you can get OTC at any health food store in Vegas called 'Las Vegas Mix' . It's a homeopathic remedy for springtime allergies. My pulmonologist said that people either get better or worse when they move out here. I got worse, much worse and had to move. Now, i only fly in when i have a film /theater job.

I've lived in Vegas for years and many people suffer with allergies here. The common ones are ragweed, mulberry, and pollen. The weather forecasters on the news usually give the index daily. Just drink plenty of water and take your normal allergy medicine and a spray of saline in the nose twice a day seems to help most people. Other than that........enjoy and have fun!

Ihave asthma and Vegas is a dream. There is no mold. There is less than 8% humidity. No grass-- almost the whole town is xero-scaped -- there are very few lawns.
There is some high sierra cedar.

The Vegas strip is like a concrete jungle. Just outside Vegas, it's desert. So, I'm not sure there are that many allergens present.
