I agree with some of the others answers here that these are not good choices for best punk rocker.....out of these choices Billie is the best.

uuuggghhh. Why do you ask who the best punk rocker is, but then list 4 people who aren't punk rockers to choose from (well, 3 of them definitely aren't while B.J.A. is arguable).

The answer to who the best punk rocker is would have to be Jello Biafra from Dead Kennedys. However, if you're going to make me choose from this cesspool of posers, I'd have to say Billy Joe, because Green Day was actually a part of a legitimate punk rock scene at one time (Gilman St. in Berkley). I don't know who told you that those other guys are punk rockers, but you have been gravely misinformed. You have mistaken emo-pop music with punk rock, and that is not right. You need to listen to Dead Kennedys, Agent Orange, The Clash, Angry Samoans, Johnny Thunders, MC5, Total Chaos, RKL, SNFU, Leftover Crack, Choking Victim, etc. Those are real punk bands. All of your candidates are just posers. They're fashion statements, not political statements (o.k., Green Day has gotten somewhat political, but still...)

I am a major believer that punk rock is essential to consider the velvet underground as the best punk rock band ever. The bands you named ar such modern day poser bands.

Johnny Rotten- infinitely more awesome than Sid Vicious (He gets so much more attention just cause he killed his girlfriend, but he was a dumbass. I'll admit he was a punk dumbass. But he was still a dumbass.).

And of course, all the members of the Velvet Underground, founders of punk.

Truthfully, the groups you listed- not punk, pop. Pure pop.

sorry to tell you this, but none of those are punk rockers - they don't even come close...

my personal favorite punk rocker would have to be Jello Biafra (of the Dead Kennedys, I'm guessing you wouldn't know that though...)

billie joe - green day. like, the all-american rejects are great too, but... i don't think they're exactly punk, they're more pop rock type.
