Please. Blair hasn't got the guts to tell him that. They are both guilty of gross negligence in the Iraq war if not of war crimes. Do you think that this will be any different. Blair has no say or power over Bush. He is the poodle without doubt.

Unfortunately we (UK) are so tied up with the US policy for the Middle East and beyond that our PM has very little room to manoeuvre and has even less influence.

Blair's only option if he wants to go down in history as a caring PM is to start slowly increasing pressure on Bush by comments made to the press etc. The next PM (probably Brown a more socialist man) should then increase the pressure on the US by strengthening this position and gaining some credibility in the Arab world.

This must be the way forward if the UK are to play any major role in untangling the whole mess of lies and distrust that all sides feel. it is my honest belief that the overwhelming majority of people in the area want peace and are willing to live side by side.

Well, since it was Lebanon who abducted Israeli soldiers and brought themselves into the conflict and Lebanon who are launching daily missile attacks against Israeli targets at the same time as Israel are attacking military targets in civilian locations with high-yield weaponry without considering the collateral damage I feel it's best at the moment to limit our engagement to the humanitarian aid that we are providing.

If any thing we should step up the humanitarian aid without moving military assets into the region, as this will only add pressure to both sides in the conflict and may result in escalation.

P.S> I do agree that it's a crazy 'War On Terror' although I also believe that it was started to distract everyone from the fact that Bush rigged his election.

Number one, the US if not fighting in Israel and neither are the Brits. Number two, women and children are also dying in Israel. Can the Isralies help it if the arabs are such bad shots with their rockets and weapons that they are not killing enough Israeli's to keep up with the number of Lebanese being killed. By the way, if the Arabs gave up there weapons there would be peace in the Middle East, if the Israelies gave up their weapons their nation would be totally destrayed with all there inhabitants slaughtered by the Arabs. So tell me who the real murderers and instigators of this war are. It's not the Israelies or the US or Britain. Your crazy terrorist want to destroy all of Western society. We have to all stick together to protect ourselves. By the way I am, believe it or not a liberal Democrate, but I am not suicidal. The war on terror was ligitimately being fought in Afghanistan. The war in Iraq is all Bush's war based on lies which no person in their right mind can support.

Bush didn't start the war in Lebanon. Iran and Syria directed Hizbollah to invade Israel. They attacked and Israeli army unit, killed 8 soldiers and kidnapped two more.
They then tried to use the prisoners for ransom. the ransom demanded was release of Hizbollah terrorists held in Israeli prison.
The reason Israel reacted the way they did is because it gives them an opportunity to reduce the effectiveness of Hizbollah.
Hizbollah was supposed to have beed decommissioned since 2004 UN resolution 1559.
They have refused to disarm.
They continue to build their strength in defiance of the UN resolution. They are armed and directed by the two terror states Iran and Syria.
