Yeah, that is a bad name for a girl. She will be teased.

I think that the name "Jared" is just too masculine to be a girl's name. It will only make her life more difficult, and will no doubt result in teasing from her peers. Now, I think Corbin isn't a bad name for a girl... There are some perfectly fine boy's names that work for girls as well. But "Jared"??? I just don't see that working...
I DO know a girl whose nickname is "Jerri". Now I'm not sure of her actual name, but I never thought Jerri was bad for a girl, especially if it's spelled with an "i". Perhaps she could be named something, besides "Jared", that could provide her with the nickname of "Jerri", so her name is still similar to "Jared", but at the same time a little more acceptable. (Maybe "Geraldine" or some variation of that? "Gerri" wouldn't be a bad name for a girl, either...)
Hope this helps! (And congrats, Mandy, on your baby!)

That is a gross name for a girl. When I hear the name Jared, I think of the old fat subway guy. Even Corbin is stupid. I absolutely hate it. When parents name their kids things like this, their kids grow up and smother them in their sleep. I feel very sorry for this girl, she is going to be tormented her whole life. And how do you do a nick name for Jared, or Corbin, are they going to call their sweet baby girl J.C.? Shoot her before she screws up an innocent child.

Though I wouldn't say that any of us would change her mind, it's true that I've only heard of Jared for a boy's name, but be her friend, and still support her no matter what. She may not even tell you her next baby's name because she feels a lack of confidence. I went through the same thing with my cousin. They named their baby Sheldon, and the other one Gabriel. No matter how much I rent and raved about how awful those names were, they still named them that.

I totally agree with you, Hannah. Cuz Jared Corbin is such a "YUCK" name for a girl. I also totally agree that you should put this under your friend Mandy's door. That way she knows that other people agree with you.

Yeah I think it's a trend these days to name girls traditional boys names.. but Jared is taking it a little too far in my opinion.

People will wonder if her baby is a transvestite with a name like that!!
no offense, but she might as well buy the baby hot pink tight leather pants and a jock strap if she wants to name her little girl Jared lol

Jared, I wouldn't even name a boy that. Do NOT name any kid that, especially a girl.
