You know, when you put the DVD in and it asks you what player you want it to use...well, I guess my children set this one as default and it SUCKS so I need to change it.

the easy way is right click on the dvd -> open with..-> select ur fav and check use this as.... checkbox
dont forget to click ok!!

Go to set progams and defaults on your start menu and change the default to the one you want

put in a dvd open my computer the â right click on the movie and go to properties and right click open with and tell it what program you want to use to open this type file

on XP: go to start>my computer>(whatever drive is not wanted)and RIGHT CKICK>properties>auto play tab and here check the 'select an action to perform' dot; then highlight "take no action" then click 'apply"; do the opposite for the drive you do want to perform whatever action
