Most entertainers have absolutely no idea what they are talking about when it comes to politics because they live in a totally different world than you and I.

And that is your right... However what if I say that now that you have posted on yahoo answers you are now an Entertainer (you have given me something to do for a few minutes) so Now you are not allowed to VOICE your political views. Those people (wether we agree with thier views or not) are still citizens and have the right to thier view. If they have a larger platform to share thier view well they earned that platform. There have been some notable entertainers who eventually entered politics (ronald reagan for one) and some notable Politicians who later became entertainers (Olivia Dukakis?) If you don't want entertainers to talk then what are they there for? every comedian is an entertainer and what is the subject of almost EVERY joke. Politics (even sex jokes are still really about politics just at a more "local" level) Every love song... Politics. Every Rap song about "the Man" Politics. How many movies are Political Dramas or have a political element (brokeback mountain? sexual politics) So I think I would really look at what you are ranting about. It seems your real problem is not that they are talking about Politics but that they are DISAGREEING with your politics.

I completely agree with you. I don't want entertainers to shove their policital views down my throat. They need to keep their views to themselves and leave them out of the media. What's even worse if when a priest or minster preaches their political views from the pulpit. We don't go to church to get a lecture on politics. And to the person who mentioned Arnold-At this time he has a right to voice his political views..he is a politician!! Just as Ronald Reagan did once he became a politician.

We surely care about hockey! yet, we care about diverse hockey in diverse strategies. PeeWee hockey is the excellent because you've were given maximum of those tiny, teenie human beings wobbling round and spending extra time on the ice than on their skates. The minor leagues are a good danger to make certain some particularly solid hockey and also you may see a destiny action picture star. the Junior leagues are large, less expensive leisure in a range of of small cities and ought to construct rivalries with different cities. The CHL leagues (WHL, QMJHL, OHL and so on...) are large! very last, there is the NHL. That boils all the way down to a cleansing soap opera from a lot of guys (myself protected!) undergo in options the Rocket!

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't stand it when they think that because they are a singer or an actor..then we should all listen to their viewpoints. If I go to a concert..it's to hear someone sing, not tell me how to live.
I think it can be undemocratic too...think of someone who loves John Mellencamp (if you can)...they hear him at a concert endorse a candidate...then this person goes to vote (assuming that someone who loves John Mellencamp could find their way around town)...and they vote for the person John Mellencamp said to...with no other reason except because he said. What is democratic about that process? It's ridiculous......it makes me crazy.

They are taking advantage of the fact that we pay attention to them. Lots of the entertainers you mention have absolutly no experience with politics. What they are good at is looking good and being personable.
I think that as revenge, politicians should start voicing their opinion on how acting should be done!

It doesn't matter the profession of people, the fact is that they are ppl like u and i, and if they want to give their opinon about poltiical views let them. At least you'll know that they actually give a damn about what's going on, instead of performing all the damn time. And on top of that, your not mad at the fact that they are entertianers giving the opinons, your mad at the fact that people can be so easily influenced about what they say because they are celebrities. People have a problem for thinking for themselves and so they'll agree with anyone who's their idol, that's what your mad about.

I have always felt that one's personal political views should be kept personal. As the saying goes, when in a public place never discuss politics or religion. Both send up red flags in people.

You know who I am so sick of? BONO!
He doesn't know a thing about international politics, and he thinks he has the right to criticize the government and tell what governments should do and shouldn't do. I've had enough of him. He doesn't even know who he is supporting, he actually supported Yugoslavian leaders involved in the genocide. He should stick to making his crappy music.

They are in the spot light and use it for their political agenda. They are using entertainment to focus on their political candidate. Also to voice their views so everyone will agree with them.
