I've been to Spain (Madrid, Toledo, and Sevilla) but I would like to hear about La Segrada Familia in Barcelona, Spain from people with first-hand experience. That's my next travel goal seeing as I've fallen head over heels for Senor Gaudi's work.

First hand, its awesome. Do allocate at least half a day for it. That way, you'll have time to climb the towers, and have time for the basement & small museum as well. Its still a work in progress, so there's ongoing construction work to build the nave and the other towers and facades. Even the semi-completed roof of the nave looks amazing, modelled after trees and braches.

Gaudi's other famous works, Casa Batllo and Casa Mila is about a 15 minute walk from La Sagrada Familia, in the Eixample neighborhood. Also make sure you check out Parc Guell, in the northern suburbs.

When you do get to Barcelona get a ticket for the Bus Turistic. As the name suggests its a tourist bus, it travels all around the city and stops at all the major attractions including the Sagrada Familia. You can hop on and off as you like and you get a book of vouchers giving reduced entry to places and money off in some food outlets etc. It is 18 euro for one day or 22 euro for two days it sounds alot but we found it invaluable for getting around the city. check it out at www.barcelonaturisme.com where if you book online you get a 10% discount.

I saw it last year and it was as advertized, Gaudi. Lots of busses show up with tourists to see it. It actually has so much stuff on it that its hard to see individual parts.
