Very interesting, but I think the jury is still out on this one. We'll see.

I'm *very* skeptical. I didn't spend a lot of time at the site, because it's just too easy for anyone to create a hoax on the Internet... and because it's just not very well presented.

Though I'm a firm believer in intelligent extraterrestrial life forms, I've found the UFO community to contain way too few critical thinkers and way too many gullible people. I'll refrain from saying they're all crackpots, but fear quite a few of them are.

Also, I can't help wondering if the people who are buying into this realize what is being suggested. Don't they think that if we had the incredible amount of money, knowledge, technology and other resources that would be required for interstellar travel--today, much less years ago--we'd see at least a smattering of those resources applied to our chronically fund-starved space program? Jeez, I'd hope so, anyway.

I fear that a good percentage of those reading about this "project" have no idea how far away even our very nearest neighbor star is, and what that means in terms of traveling there. Further, of the extreme improbability of learning about, and finding intelligent life within traveling distances for our current resources... and then being able to communicate with them.

I'd like to believe it -- and I do believe it's possible to make such journeys -- but *strongly* doubt it has happened already. I prefer to keep funding the SETI project, where real research is being done.

Here are some other arguments against this Serpo thing...
