Personally, I loved how the series ended. I thought it was perfect. However, it seems that many people didn't. My question is, if you didn't like it how would you have written the ending differently if you were the author? If you liked the ending, write a brief synopsis of a possible alternate ending. Details are good. I'm just interested in seeing where people thought King would take things.

Jesus, people...THERE ARE NO SPOILERS IN THIS QUESTION!!! Of the first three responses, NOBODY read the damn question. How completely disappointing and sad. Makes me question the credibility of any answer I might get. I think I deserve my 5 points back.

I was traumatised by the ending!! It took me about a week to get over this trauma until I realised that it was understandable and forgiveable.

I guess I just wanted Roland to have long days and pleasant nights and a well earned rest!

Oh well, ka is a wheel, is it not?!

definite. Stephen King has been writing for over 40 years and with 800 million novels in print. He won't be able to be beat. The darkish Tower sequence. a million. The Gunslinger 2. Drawing of the three 3. The Wastelands 4. Wizard and Glass 5. Wolves of Calla 6. song of Susannah 7. The darkish Tower. One large tale in seven novels. The very last 3 have multiple pages, they arrive in 2 volumes. quite a few years decrease back Stephen king were given hit by a van even as walking. He were given all sorts of e-mail with human beings wondering if he replaced into ever going to end the sequence. He no longer purely finished the sequence. He protected his coincidence into the sequence. Over 2 a lengthy time period contained in the making, so that they were all started lengthy beforehand each and every of the "puff sequence" that are out now. <}:-})

At first I hated it. At first I was soooooo disappointed in the ending. I thought, all that time, all that waiting, just for the stupid thing to "not really" end.

Then I thought about it. I mean, I actually re-read the entire series and thought about every little thing.

I can't say that it HAD to end that way. I sort of wish that there were more closure to it. BUT I like how he placed in there that Roland was learning from his past mistakes. I like how he tied that Horn of Eld into the last scene, when it had previously been lost.

I enjoyed the ending, and I would love a new book with Suz, Eddie, and Jake to see how they adjusted to life. I can't really see them living a quiet life after all they have been through. I see them more as vigilantes....
